Schedule & Membership Packages

The 2019 race schedule has been finalized and will be posted on the website under the Schedule page.   We are still looking for 1 final Class Sponsor !   With the completed Schedule, we will begin to fill in Race Day Sponsors for each event.  Race Day Sponsors will have their name/logo on the race day trophies as well as their business highlighted in our newsletter, drivers meetings, podium signage website, mass club emails, Oktoberfest program and more !   Sponsors are also given the opportunity to showcase their business on their selected Race Day to the club members and spectators with exclusive access to a primary pit location across from registration and the starting grid.   Please contact Christine Dryden if you have any interested Sponsors.

The WRKC 2019 Membership package is now available with the attached link and on the website latest news post and also under the Forms tab of the Documents section of the website.

Motorama – March 8 – 10th

WRKC will have a booth at the annual Motorama show,  If you are planning on attending the show and would like to volunteer a couple of hours at the WRKC booth, please contact Steve Adams.  This is a great venue to introduce our club to new racers, young and old.

We are also pleased to announce that for the first time our 2018 Class Champions have been invited to join the Motorama Night of Champions.    We hope some of our members will be there to cheer them on !

2019 Honda/Briggs Class Structures

One of the key items discussed at the AGM was the inclusion of the Briggs engine with 3 of our classes.   This has been a highly discussed topic over the past years and the membership voted on and agreed to include them in Jr Heavy, Sr Medium, and Masters classes.   These classes were tested last season and we determined a different weight requirement was necessary.

Class           Honda          Briggs
Jr Heavy       290 lb            310lb
Sr Medium    340 lb*           350lb*     * This is under review
Masters         365 lb            375 lb

Further details regarding Briggs will be included in the 2019 Rule book.  Printed copies will be available at the swap meet and an online version will also be available on the website in the coming weeks.

Volunteers Needed for the 2019 season

We are in need of volunteers for this season.   Please take the time to review and fill in the volunteer sheet contained in the registration package.    The following positions are needed

Registration  –    we require someone to take ownership of the registration process, checking in drivers,  assigning transponders, and balancing funds received each race day.  Training will be provided.
Scoring –  we are looking for at least 2 people interested in taking over the computer scoring.   Training will be provided.
Newsletters – we are looking for a volunteer to format the Race Day newsletters and send them out using our MailChimp account.
Corner Marshalls – it important for us to have enough coverage on the track to make it safe for our racers.   Training is provided and there is a minimum age requirement of 13.

Interested parties for any of these jobs can respond to [email protected] or let us know at the Swap Meet.   We would love to see these positions filled before the start of our season.
