AGM and Election

SAVE the DATE – Saturday January 12th (10:30am) – Millgrove Community Centre (851 Millgrove Side Rd, Waterdown, ON)

We will be holding an Annual Meeting (AGM) which will include our annual election of Directors.

Our order of business for the 2019 AGM

1. Chairman & Secretary Bring meeting to order
2. Appointment of Scrutineers
3. Notice of Meeting
4. Presentation of Financial Statement
5. Address to Club Members, By:
Chair/President & Vice President  reviewing 2018 Highlights

6. Rule Book changes and review of common issues
7. Scrutineers Report of Attendance
8. Summary of the Election of Board and Executive
9. New Business
10. Adjournment of Meeting. 

By-Laws are available on the WRKC website under the Document tab.   If there are any recommended changes to the by-laws, the recommendations have to be submitted 20 days prior to the meeting so that the membership can be notified of any proposed changes.

2019  Executive Election

Everyone will be asked to select a maximum of 5 Nominees to work with the returning Directors in the coming season.    The full list of names will also be listed on the ballot that will be handed in at the door.

5 Directors Openings  –  A Director is required to attend monthly meetings where we discuss finances, event planning, rules and regular club business along with taking responsibility for projects or events.   A director must also be a WRKC member in good standing or parent guardian of a member and thus become an associate member for the seasons elected.

There are 5 Director openings to fill and the following people were nominated and accepted the nomination on or before the Dec 2nd deadline.  Their names will be on the Ballot at the AGM.

Andrew Tarr – Masters Driver and past Vice President
Lisa Macrae – Parent of Jr Light driver, past Director
Darron Glasgow – Parent of Jr Heavy driver

Jeff Rowley – Parent of Cadet driver
Jeremy Riopelle – Parent of Novice driver
Gary Colling – Parent of Jr Light and Sr Medium drivers, past Director

Note: We have removed the nominations for the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary as defined in the ‘Corporations Act’, these positions are to be voted on by the Directors at the first Board Meeting after the election.

All 2018 registered members will be eligible to vote at the January 13th Annual Meeting.  Results will be tallied by a minimum of 3 members – TBD.    The new 2019 Executive will be introduced at the meeting if time allows or before the 2019 season begins.

The 2019 Rules package will be reviewed.   If anyone has any rules they would like clarified, updated, or added, please email your suggestions to [email protected] and the rules committee will include them in their planning session.

SWAP MEET Organizer Volunteer – We are looking for a member that is willing to head up this years Annual Swap Meet.  This includes being the prime contact for the event and organizing vendor tables and kart corral.   Please respond Jake Collison or Christine Dryden if you are able to take on this event planning.
