The WRKC is sad to announce the passing of the patriarch of our club, Jim Collison on October 9th, 2018
Jim Collison was an active member of the Waterloo Regional Kart Club for over 36 years. He has served as the President, Vice President, Director, as well as other roles. We clearly remember Jim’s passion and pride when the WKRC started its 2008 season at its current location at Flamboro Speedway. Jim was the driving force behind the planning of the infield track and spent many weeks/months on the grounds during the building of the track to make sure everything was perfect. Even up to this year, he continued to take care of many of the important jobs behind the scenes including organizing ASN Insurance and planning EMS coverage. He was always the first to volunteer to head up the track cleanup days and had his list ready with the jobs that needed to be completed.
Even in his failing health, he walked the pits in September to try to get some ad submissions for our 37th annual Oktoberfest program and he himself, submitted the following final piece.
Thank you Jim for the many years of leadership, guidance and dedication to this club, we are forever grateful. You will be greatly missed.
